The detrimental effects on the central nervous system increase as a person's blood alcohol levels rise. Alcohol is directly absorbed through the walls of the small intestine and stomach. It then enters the bloodstream where it accumulates before being broken down by the liver.
The calculation of a person's blood alcohol concentration is based on the amount of alcohol present in a particular volume of blood. The term "BAC" stands for "blood alcohol concentration.
Crash risk skyrockets with a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of.08 grams per deciliter (g/dL). Because of this risk, driving while intoxicated is prohibited in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico, with the exception of Utah, where the legal limit is.05.
Alcohol can impair one's ability to drive even in little amounts, though. 2,041 persons died in crashes in 2020 whose drivers had blood alcohol concentrations (BAC) ranging from.01 to.07 g/dL. A breathalyzer, which measures the amount of alcohol in a driver's breath, or a blood test are two ways to determine BAC.
Never drive after drinking:
India reported 467,044 traffic incidents in 2018, a 0.5% rise from the previous year's figures. In spite of owning just 1% of all automobiles worldwide, India is responsible for 6% of all traffic accidents, according to the World Health Organization. Every year, many of these traffic incidents are attributed to drunk or drugged driving.
Due to the fact that they endanger both themselves and other road users while driving after drinking, drivers are the worst conceivable fatal weapons that might result from this behavior. When it is possible to avoid this danger, why incur it? In India, it is against the law to drive after consuming alcohol.
Drinking and driving in India: Alcohol Limit
You must be aware of the legal alcohol limit if you are a driver. Any person whose blood alcohol level exceeds 30 MG/100 ML of blood is detected in a specific breathalyzer test is regarded as a case of drink and drive while intoxicated.
