Registration Procedure of Love Marriage

  • Notification for Intended Marriage- Obtaining the notice of intending marriage is the first stage in registering a marriage for lovers. You must note that Section 5 of the Special Marriage Act should be followed. The marriage registrar must be notified in writing of both parties' intentions to marry.

30 days prior to the notification, notice must be delivered to the district registrar of the district in which each party resides.

  • Publishing the Notification- The original copy of the notification is in the notice book, and it is published in the marriage office where it is clearly obvious that the registration of marriage for lovers has been sent to the registrar of marriage.

The notification should be published in the proper location because if you send it to the wrong office, it will be forwarded to the location where the parties to the marriage are located.

  • Objections, if any- According to Section 7 of the Special Marriage Act, any individual who objects to the registration of a marriage ceremony for lovers may do so within 30 days of the notice's publication.

If the registrar determines that the objection is validly raised. He will then put an end to the court marriage procedure. However, if the objection is found to be unjustified, the process continues to the next step.

  • Both Parties' and Witnesses' Declarations- Finalizing the judicial marriage is the declaration of the couple along with any witnesses in the presence of the registrar of marriage. Both parties as well as the witness must sign the court marriage petition.

  • Location and Form of Solemnization of Marriage- Under the virtue of Section 12 of the Special Marriage Act, civil marriages between lovers may be registered at the registrar's office or in any other location.

  • Obtaining a Marriage Certificate- The registrar inserts all the marriage information necessary for the release of a certificate of marriage once the registered marriage process for lovers has been completed. Legal documentation of a marriage that has been witnessed by both parties as well as witnesses is a marriage certificate.
